Julia Child’s 100th
Birthday!
Did you know, in 2002, Nancy Thomas, was commissioned by the
International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) to paint the
official gift painting for Julia Child's 90th birthday? Nancy attended the
birthday party in San Francisco where she presented her painting to Julia. During the
month-long celebration, many restaurants around the country had signed prints
of the painting in their dining rooms. In honour of Julia Child's 100th
birthday, Nancy Thomas has re-issued, signed and dated the print in a very
limited quantity.
Public Television WHRO is also celebrating the iconic
chef with special programming on August 14 at 8pm. Join Cathy Lewis, ChefPatrick Evans-Hylton
and former executive director of Johnson and Wales, Debi
Gray for
Julia Child Memories: Bon Appetit!
Nancy supports Public Broadcasting and her commemorative
Julia Child Birthday prints will be available in a limited quantity through our galleries
or through a contribution package to WHRO. So be sure to watch August 14th
at 8pm, on WHRO-PBS!
